How it all began
Welcome! I’m Maya Ushikubo, and I believe that every path—no matter how winding—leads us exactly where we’re meant to be.
Born in Tokyo, raised in Vancouver, and shaped by the islands of Hawai’i, my journey has been anything but linear. I’ve explored cultures, careers, and creative outlets across the world, but one truth has remained constant: stories have the power to inspire, and digital connection has the power to transform.
Origins
My passion for content creation began long before social media became what it is today. From MySpace to Tumblr, over two decades ago, and eventually WordPress, I was captivated by the way words could engage, influence, and build communities. But my path wasn’t a straight line. I explored different careers—retail, teaching, wellness coaching—each one shaping me in unexpected ways. Yet, time and again, the digital world called me back.
I realized that marketing isn’t just about selling—it’s about impact. It’s about creating meaningful relationships between brands and the people they serve. It’s about sharing stories that resonate, inspire, and drive action.
